Preventing a Legionella outbreak in your facility this spring

As spring arrives, so does the possibility of an outbreak of Legionnaire’s disease. Legionnaire’s disease is a type of bacterial pneumonia that is caused by Legionella bacteria, which flourish in the air conditioning systems used in many large buildings. When an air conditioning system that is contaminated with Legionella is turned on for the season, the bacteria can spread through the air and cause widespread sickness. Upcoming silica regulations will likely impact your construction project

At The Lighthouse Companies, we have been closely following OSHA's progress on the proposed rulemaking for Occupational Exposure to Respirable Silica. It is our understanding that the new regulations will be published within the next month. This rule, when in place, will likely affect all new commercial construction projects.
